Abstract		The number of patients treated at our institution rises every year. In my country injured patients are rarely definitively treated by general practitioners. In the article guidelines for distinguishing light and heavy injuries are discussed. Lighter injuries shall be treated by general practitioners, heavy ones should be refered to trauma centres. Author focused on most frequent injuries encountered: head blows, sprains, wounds and burns.
