Abstract     Various secondary complications are frequent in patients with traumatic brain injury. Nurses and health care technicians play an important role in preventing such complications. The article discusses the process method of work performed by nurses. It further discusses secondary complications which frequently develop in patients with traumatic brain injury. The article describes the basic principles of preventing pressure sores, incorrect patterns of body posture, spasticity and contractures. It also describes the most important measures for the prevention of hospital acquired infections.
