Abstract     For planing and performing neuroradiological and other interventional procedures, good visualisation of patological structures and their relationship to neighbouring structures is of great importance. In the past, we mainly used digital subtraction angiography which still remains the »gold standard«. In recent years, improvements have been made in the field with the introduction of computed tomographic angiography, magnetic resonance angiography, and the latest three-dimensional (3D) rotational angiography which provides high-resolution reconstructions of the vessel tree. The reconstructions yield 3D anatomic information which can be viewed and rotated at the workstation.
