Abstract		On the basis of many years' positive experience of effectiveness of health care of children and adolescents in Slovenia, recommendations of the paediatric speciality in Slovenia and in the contemporary world, on the basis of the decision of Slovenia, which ratified the Convention on Children's Rights and included this decision in the Constitution of the Republic Slovenia and supported it with health laws and regulations, and on the basis of the guidelines of the European Union of Medical Specialists, the European Paediatric Association, the Union of National European Paediatric Societies and Associations and the European Association of Ambulatory Paediatricians, the authors advocate the model of health care of children and adolescents that has a paediatrician at the primary level.
