Abstract		The differentiation of monocytes and maturation of human dendritic cells (DC) was applied as an in vitro model system for studying a potential role of the protease inhibitor cystatin C in immune cells. Endogenous cystatin C content, its intracellular localization and secretion were determined and compared among monocytes and different DC populations.
