Abstract     This paper presents the course of pregnancy and childbirth in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) and myasthenia gravis (MG) and the influence of pregnancy on the course of these diseases. During pregnancy, MS is usually stable or even improves, while exacerbations often occur during the postpartum period. Uncomplicated MS does not have a negative impact on the course of pregnancy, childbirth and health of the newborn. The course of MG during pregnancy is unpredictable; premature childbirth and/or fetal growth delay occur in 40% of all cases, while 20% of newborns suffer from transient MG. This paper also briefly describes the course of pregnancy in patients with Friedrich's ataxia, Guillain-Barre's syndrome, chronic inflammatory demyelinating polineuropathy and diabetic neuropathy.
