Abstract		The Dolenjska and Bela krajina Region is introduced in general aspect. There are some figures about history, economic achievements, demographic trends and some information about health care which is financed from obligatory health insurance. Although the Region is relatively small compared to other Slovenian regional units, the economic results are good.
