Abstract		We present novelties in pediatric infectious diseases. Recommendations for vaccination against influenza and pneumococcus are given. Clinical picture of emerging infectious diseases in children are presented. Recommendations for prevention of HIV-1 perinatal infection, treatment options in children with hepatitis C and congenital CMV infection are mentioned. Emerging fungal infections and antifungal treatment options in children are presented briefly. Among bacterial infections, we mention infection with MRSA, novelties in pertussis, urinary tract infection, purulent meningitis and respiratory tract infections. Therapeutic options for resistent pathogens are mentioned. Gastrointestinal infections and treatment options in patients with Kawasaki disease, resistant to initial treatment are presented briefly. Some statements in the article are new and mav not be ascertained. Thev were publisbed only recently as abstracts.
