Abstract		The article discusses the problem of female urinary incontinence. The author stresses the importance of understanding two different and in clinical practice most common types of female urinary incontinence, stress urinary incontinence and urge urinary incontinence. The importance of correct diagnosis for choosing the right and effective type of treatment is emphasized. This is achieved by using the complete diagnostic protocol. The author describes the diagnostic protocol which is used for patients with urinary leakage who are examined at the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics in Ljubljana. Different types of treatment that are used throughout the world as well as in Slovenia are presented.
Summary		Članek obravnava značilnosti urinske inkontinence pri ženski. Avtor poudarja pomen razumevanja dveh osnovnih in v klinični praksi najpomembnejših oblik urinske inkontinence pri ženski, to je stresne in urgentne inkontinence. Za določitev pravilnega in uspešnega zdravljenja je pomembna pravilna diagnoza. Le-to pa postavimo z ustreznim diagnostičnim postopkom. Opisan je diagnostični dogovor za obravnavo bolnic z nenadzorovanim uhajanjem urina, ki je v uporabi na Ginekološki kliniki v Ljubljani. Naštete so oblike zdravljenja, ki so uveljavljene v svetu in v uporabi v našem prostoru.
