Abstract		While assessing a potentially violent patient in the field, upon admission or later on the ward, we come into contact with the risk of a violent out brake. To reduce the risk of injuries of health workers and the patient, we must follow strict professional procedures and have enough staff at hand. It is important to foresee a potentially violent situation, so we engage enough staff and will not need to improvise "unprofessionally". The Broset Violence Checklist is a simple, highly efficient and useful aid, which can be used in the field, can help in the communication between health professionals in the field and in hospital and can prevent a dangerous situation .
