Abstract     Apnea or breath cessation is a serious life threatening event. It is most frequent in young children and newborns, by whom central apnea is the mean cause. Case presentation of a young infant with apnea is presented. Etiology, differential diagnosis, laboratory tests and therapy are discussed. Each apnea is serious event. Diagnosis can be made with anamnesis usually, but good clinical examination, in- hospital monitoring and observation is sometimes necessary. In high risk infant, diagnosis may be difficult, and more diagnostic procedures must be done.
