Abstract		An agitated patient who fails to provide an adequate anamnesis and frequently does not allow physical examination presents a challenging problem in emergency department. The temptation to view such patients as pure psychiatric cases may mislead the physician to overlook other causes of agitation, poisonings amongst others. In this setting a thorough physical examination helps in assessment of correct diagnosis.
