Abstract     Measurement is an important part also in rehabilitation medicine, but there are several problems, because most things cannot be measured in standard units. Many different scales are used at all levels, body structure and body functions, activity and participation level, quality of life assistive technology and environment. There is a need for more accurate measurement technique that will be valid, easy and quick to perform, the equipment to be small and cheap. We will achieve it by close collaboration between clinicians and bioengineers and between different rehabilitation and research centers across Europe.
