Abstract		The accurate assessment of disease activity and joint damage in rheumatic diseases is essential. The sensitivity is improved by using Power Doppler imaging technique. It seems that Power Doppler imaging is promising the quantifying of synovitis in inflammatory diseases. It could be useful in longitudinal studies, especially in the assessment of treatment of rheumatic diseases with the disease modifying antiinflammatory drugs.
