Abstract     Colorectal cancer (CR) is one of the most frequently observed malignant tumors in the developed countries of the world. Several studies have demonstrated a significant influence of nutrition in the prevention of CR incidence. Risk factors in the development of CR are excess energy intake, excess intake of total and saturated fats, trans fatty acids, and alcohol, also inadequate intake of protective substances (vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, dietary fiber, essential fatty acids). Physical inactivity and excess body weight are consistent rirk factors far CR.
