Abstract     Communicable diseases and life-threatening microbes continue to threat and cause suffering and death and impose an enormous burden on society. There are many communicable diseases such as food-borne, waterborne and vector-borne diseases, zoonotic diseases, diseases transmitted through blood, tuberculosis, and respiratory infectious diseases and influenza that continue to kill or disable hundreds of millions of children and adults around the world. Examples of reemerging diseases as well as a threat of yet another catastrophic influenza A epidemic are currently causing considerable concern. The rapidly advancing field of information technology has a great impact on the field of communicable diseases, thusly rapid access and exchange of information such as early warning and response system (EWRS) is critical to the overall success of any control measure and public health program.
