Abstract     Human papillomaviruses are a very heterogenous group of DNA viruses, which are aetiologically associated with numerous benign or malignant changes of planocellular epithelium. Till now there were identified more than 95 genotypes. Genital warts are the most common benign lesions in the anogenital region, which are aetiologycally associated with genotypes HPV6 in HPV-11. No specific antiviral treatment exists. Depending on wartspecific factors, compliance of the patient and experience of the therapist all ablative, chemodestructive or novel immunomodulatory procedures are comparable.
