Abstract		Sonographic brain vizualization is classically performed through the anterior fontanelle, but visualization of posterior supratentorial and infratentorial structures is poor with this approach. Posterior and mastoid fontanelle sonography is recommended for better assessment of these structures. These alternate techniques can help detect pathologic conditions and structural malformations in the neonatal brain. Use of posterior fontanelle imaging and mastoid fontanelle imaging can significantly augment the diagnostic power of brain sonography
