Abstract     Reaearch in nursing can asist to analyse problems in practice, assure knowledge for better nursing and exert influence on reputation of profession and its processes of professionalization. Nurses in nursing practice are continuously confronted with ethical principles and rules and their violations. Research group within the Nurses Organization of Ljubljana has, as a part of "Nurses in Slovenia" research in 2001, also researched sphere of ethics in nursing. Research database was available to author of this article, who analysed on representative sample of Slovene nurses in greater detail next aspects: importance of ethical viewpoint in nursing, frequency of reflections on ethics of nurses actions and violations of ethical principles in nursing practice. The author hypothesized that nurses relation toward ethics varied in regard to their age, education, income level and place of living. Validity of this hypothesis was assessed within the framework of each sphere of inquiry with chi-square test, F-test and gamma test. Results displayed great differences between groups defined on basis of education, considerable differences between those defined on basis of age and income level and relatively insignificant differences between groups defined on basis of place of living.
