Abstract		The incidence of stomach cancer is declining in Slovenia, but patients are becoming older. Also the number of hospitals and surgeons treating the patients with gastric cancer dropped. Despite the changes in health care, about one third of patients did not come to the surgeon. Comparison of data from 2004 with 1993 shows some improvement in increased respectability, decreased postoperative mortality and improved 5-year survival rate.
