Abstract     Upper gastrointestinal bleeding continues to be a vary significant problem in the world despite major advances in endoscopy, pharmacology and surgery. In the last decades we have less peptic ulcers patients, but the number of ulcer disease because of the use of nesteroidal antiheumatics and aspirin is growing. Despite early possibility of endoscopy and its interventional procedures and succesfull therapy with protone pump inhibitors the mortality of bleeding patients is till to high, statistic data shows mortality rate between 7 to 14 percent, at those patients who are bleeding during the hospitalisation time mortality is even higher. Because of that those patients need carefull surveillance and selected therapy.
