Abstract		Orofacial pain is one of the main reasons why patients consult dentists or doctors. Structures and sites where the pain originates should be defined, the pain cathegorized and if, possible, disease should also be defined. Algorithms help us in decision making in the management of orofacial pain. Treatment of orofacial pain should target the origin and causes of pain, which is difficult in cases of chronic disease, where psychogenic factors prevail.
