Data from present reporting system were used. All the people from 7 to 49 years old visited psysician or admitted to the hospital because of AN and BN were included in our investigation. Data on hospitalisations were processed for ten year period, data on first visits for three year period. We calculated rates according to time, gender and diagnoses. Among many conclutions the most important were: The women were prevalent (92%-97%). The number of hospitalisations and the hospital treatment rate were increased. Diseases were most often at age group from 15 to 19 years. The number of cases in younger age group (10 to 14 years) were very increased, too. On the base of our data the calculations of prevalence and incidence of hospital treatment were made, but the present health information system does not yield data concerning prevafence and incidence in Slovenia. Hospital treatment rate and rate of first visits are evidances that AN and BN are great and rising public health problem in Slovenia.
