Abstract		The management of patients with a suspected diagnosis of hepatitis is a complex process since generally various forms of hepatitis clinically present in only a few different patterns. In most instances, diagnosis can be made accurately by a careful history, physical examination, and application of a few routine, and some more specific laboratory tests, including liver biopsy in some particular cases. Ethiological confirmation of hepatitis is mandatory since many of them may be curable if disclosed early enough, not to mention the possible prevention of further spread if infection in case the disease turns to be of infective origin. Algorythm of management of patients with suspected hepatitis, viral hepatitis in particular, is presented.
