Abstract		Legionnaires disease is a special form of pneumonia caused by the bacteria from genus Legionella. They replicate in water system therefore most of the infections are connected to staying at hotels, bathing in pools or spas or to hospitalization. Hospital acquired legionella infections present a serious problem because of high mortality rate and because they affect most vulnerable patients that is surgical patients and patients with immunodeficiency states. The article discusses clinical picture, treatment and prevention of legionnaires disease and Pontiac fever.
