| Abstract | Obesity results from a positive energy balance and subsequent energy storage. In recent years many genes and hormones regulating food intake and energy expenditure have been described. In the present review, a human mechanism of satiety and energy metabolism are discussed briefly, along with some genetic and syndromic causes of obesity. | |
