| Abstract | The article presents the analysis of the patients on home oxygen treatment. Control group was composed of patients who were prescribed home oxygen treatment which was never carried out due to different reasons. The author discusses different causes of hypoxaemia, the lung function and values of gases in arterial blood in both groups of patients. Different sources of oxygen are described as well as daily duration of oxygen supply. The lenght of the survival of the patients of both groups are compared. The author assesses essential differences in the incidence of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and home oxygen treatment in different regions in Slovenia. | |
