Abstract		Acute pelvic pain is a symptom of many gynecologic diseases. However, the general practitioner in Slovenia has only very limited possibilities in the diagnosis of gynecologic pathologies, mainly because of lack of clinical experience. From there on, it is of most importance to recognize life threatening acute conditions, and promptly transport the patient to the hospital. In non-life threatening conditions general practitioner can perform some of the tests and refer the patient to the appropriate specialist.
