Abstract | Synthetic bacterial lipopeptide analogs could constitute a new class of adjuvants for human. We have previously demonstrated that the P3CSK4 lipopeptide can enhance HLA-I restricted T cell responses. We show here that, in spite of a consistent phenotypic maturation, P3CSK4-treated dendritic cells (DC) can efficiently up-take fluorescent Tetanus Toxoid and dextran beads. In both experimental settings the up-take of exogenous particles increases over time and is comparable to immature DC. Thus, P3CSK4 adjuvant shelters DC functions required for HLA-II restricted antigen presentation. | |
