Abstract     This article represents experiences in the project of the integration between children in kindergarten, aged 4-6 years and people with special needs from Zavod dr. Marijana Borštnarja Dornava. Meetings take place at Zavod and also in kindergartens at Ptuj and Domava. The article represents the importance of connection between them, what is the meaning of »the integration« and what are characteristics and specialities of both populations included. It describes the course and contents of meetings in Zavod dr. Marijana Borštnarja Dornava and visits in kindergartens, as well as the purpose of the project, its goals and the role of occupational therapy, which has a significant part in the project in connection with professional team work. The article also represents the importance of choosing the right activity in the process of work. The activity should be convenient for both groups. The results and impressions of both populations are also described. Both, children and people with special needs, expect that this process continues in the same way. Occupational therapy can give significant contributions, especially on emotional and social level of function, it should develop and find new ways for even better work in similar projects in future.
