Abstract     Weight control management in physically active population is clearly defined by the equilibrium of energy intake and energy expenditure. Both genetic and environmental factors can determine the potential for weight control in a certain individual. Knowledge of human metabolic pathways and awareness of realistic goals in achieving the desired body weight and composition are used together to prescribe exactly a proper diet intake and exercise regimens. Being aware of the fact that weight management is a long-term process one certainly can and will improve his or her performance, health and general well-being.
