Abstract     Background Use of pesticides deceives of inclisputable advantage, however remainders of pesticides in drinking water might represent potential danger for health on foodstuffs. In European Union (EU) pesticides and their relevant metabolic, degrading and reactive products, with exception for aldrin dieldrin, heptaclor and heptaclor epoxicle, should not exceed the concentration of 0.10 micro g/l. At limit value 0.10 micro g/l we wish to achcieve null value these substances in drinking water. Methods In years 2004 and 2005 monitoring of pesticides in drinking waters on pipes of consumers in all larger towns in state was done. Majority of pesticides were analysed by gas chromatography in combination with mass spectrometry while fluid cromatography was used primarily for badly volatile or polar and termolabile compound. Results Results of analyses of drinking water and of ground waters, for years 2004 and 2005 showed that levels of atrazine, desethyl-atrazine and 2.6 dichlorobenzamide were exceeded few times when compared to required levels. In 2005 bentazone, MCPP, metolachlor, terbuthylazin were exceeded. In 2004 concentration of pesticides were exceeded in 25 samples in 15 different areas, supplying 183,881 inhabitants. In 2005 concentration of pesticides were exceeded in 31 samples in 14 different areas, supplying 151,297 inhabitants. The distribution shows, that contamination was present mostly in the northeastpart of Slovenia, where intensive agriculture takesplace. Conclusions Received status review acquired by monitoring of pesticides in drinking water is only an assessment of circumstances that will gain in representativity by enlarged number of sampling locations and longer observation time. For assessment of trends of pollution of drinking water in Slovenia it will be necessary to monitor concentration of pesticides through longer period. (Abstract truncated at 2000 characters)
Summary     Izhodišča Uporaba pesticidov prinaša nesporne prednosti, vendar ostanki pesticidov v pitni vodi predstavljajo potencialno nevarnost za zdravje. Za pesticide in njihove relevevantne metabolne, razgradne in reakcijske produkte, razen za aldrin, dieldrin, heptaklor in heptaklor epoksid, velja pri nas in v državah Evropske unije (EU) predpisana mejna vrednost 0,10 mikro g/l. Pri mejni vrednosti 0,10 mikro g/l želimo doseči ničelno vrednost teh snovi v pitni vodi. Metode V letih 2004 in 2005 je bilo opravljeno državno monitoriranje pesticidov v pitni vodi na večini vodovodov v državi, in sicer na pipah uporabnikov. Večino pesticidov smo analizirali s plinsko kromatografijo v kombinaciji z masno spektrometrijo, medtem ko se je tekočinska kromatografija uporabljala predvsem za slabo hlapne, polarne in termolabilne spojine. Rezultati Rezultati analiz državnega monitoringa pitne vode za leto 2004 so pokazali, da so bile občasno presežene vrednosti pesticide atrazina, desetil-atrazina diklorobenzamida. V letu 2005 pa atrazina, desetil-atrazina, bentazona, MCPP, metolaklora, terbutilazina. Koncentracije pesticidov so bile v letu 2004 presežene v 25 vzorcih na 15 različnih oskrbnih območjih, ki so oskrbovala skupno 183.881 prebivalcev. V letu 2005 so bile koncentracije pesticidov presežene v 31 vzorcih na 14 različnih oskrbovanih območjih, ki so oskrbovala skupno 151.297 prebivalcev. V letu 2005 je bilo pesticidom v pitni vodi izpostavljenih manj prebivalcev kot leto prej. Razporeditev kaže na onesnaženje predvsem na severovzhodu Slovenije z intenzivnim poljedelstvom. Zaključki Pregled stanja, pridobljen z monitoriranjem pesticidov v pitni vodi, je le ocena razmer, ki bodo z večanjem števila merilnih mest in daljšim časom opazovanja prdobile na reprezentativnosti.
