Abstract     Antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) was described for the first time in 1985 as a complexe clinical syndrome consisted of arterial or venous thromhosis, obstetric complications or recurrent pregnancy loss and antiphospholipid antibodies (aPIJ.Knowledge ahout APS is growing fast. Since first reports, grteat progress was obtained in diagnostic and treatment of APS. I'reliminary classification criteria were set to characterize definite APS. The criteria were updated on XI. International Congress on Antiphospholipid Antibodies in Sydney in 2004 and published in January 2006. We present a case report of cathastrophic APS and the most important characteristics of cathastrophic APS.
