Abstract		The use of low molecular weight heparins (LMWH) has been growing during the last few years, and so has the number of complications associated with their use. The patients prone to bleeding seem to be especially endangered. Life-threatening bleedings appear with the treatment overdose but also with therapeutic doses in patients with a predisposition to bleeding. We present some basic information about LMWH, treatment control, and overview of treatment application in risk groups of patients.
