Abstract     Multiple myeloma is a malignant neoplasm of immune cells B with an uncontrolled growth of plasma cells in the bone marrow. Pick incidence is between 60 and 70 years of age, men are affected more then women and is 3 to 4 per 100.000 population. Bone pain is usually the first sign of disease and it occurs in 70% of patients. The next more common clinical problem is susceptibility to bacterial infection. Infections are the reason of death in 14% in the chronic phase of disease and in 9% in acute terminal phase. In the article there are presented the main facts of patophisiology of infections, sites, etiology and recommendations for treatment, recognition and treatment of neutropenia and main infections after stem cell transplantation.
