Abstract     Annular velocities assessed by pulsed wave tissue Doppler echocardiography are known to correlate well with ventricular systolic and diastolic function. It is not known weather different ultrasound machines and their settings have a significant influence on the reproducibility of annular velocities. Mitral and tricuspid annular velocities were measured in 25 patients aged 57 ± 14 years in two consecutive studies conducted by two cardiologists using two different ultrasound machines (ATL HDI 5000 and Atoka ProSound Alpha 5) with individual instrument settings. Finally, the results of the two studies were compared. There were no significant differences between the two data sets. The variability was low for early diastolic mitrat annular velocity (2±13% at septal and 1±16% at lateral border with intraclass correlation coefficients 0.96 and 0.95). It was moderate and acceptable for other mitral annular velocities but higher and probably clinically unacceptable for tricuspid annular velocities. Pulsed wave tissue Doppler echocardiography enables reproducible measurements of mitral annular velocities. It was not significantly influenced by the different equipment and system settings used in our study.
Summary     Tkivno doplerske hitrosti mitralnega in trikuspidalnega obroča so v dobri povezavi z diastolično in sistolično funkcijo prekatov. Ni znano, ali uporaba različnih ultrazvočnih aparatov in različnih sistemskih nastavitev vpliva na ponovljivost meritev hitrosti s pulzno tkivno doplersko ehokardiografijo. Metode. V raziskavo smo tako vključili 25 preiskovancev starih 57 ± 14 let in jim z dvema različnima ultrazvočnima aparatoma (ATL HDI 5000 in Atoka ProSound Alpha 5) izmerili tlcivno doplerske hitrosti mitralnega in trilcuspidatnega obroča. Preiskavi sta opravila dva izkušena kardiologa. Rezultate meritev na obeh aparatih smo primerjali z več kazalci variabilnosti. Med meritvami na obeh aparatih ni bilo statistično pomembnih razlik. Variabilnost je bila majhna za zgodnjo diastolično hitrost mitralnega obroča (2±13% na septalnem in 1±16% na lateralnem robu s korelacijskim koeficientom 0,96 in 0,95). Zmerna in sprejemljiva je bila za druge hitrosti mitralnega obroča, večja in verjetno Iclinično nesprejemljiva pa za hitrosti trikuspidalnega obroča. Pulzna tkivno doplerska ehokardiografija omogoča ponovljive meritve hitrosti mitralnega obroča. Sistemske nastavitve aparatov uporabljenih v naši raziskavi niso bistveno vplivale na rezultate meritev.
