Abstract     The paper looks at functional and clinical anatomy of the shoulder girdle and describes joint dislocations, fractures, diagnostic procedures by way of clinical diagnostics, most frequent radiological test (methods) and conservative treatment. It presents classifications of joint injuries (dislocation of the acromioclavicular, sternoclavicular joint) which determine guidelines treatment and reposition methods in case of luxation of the glenohumeral joint. As for fractures, the focus is on the proximal humerus fractures, with the representation of the NEER classification system and possibilities for conservative treatment of non- dislocated and dislocater fractures. The fractures of the humerus diaphysis are suitable for conservative treatment, whereby the paper provides the description of the functional immobilisation method, i.e. bracing. The field covered from children's traumatology includes typical fractures of the proximal and distal humerus, treatment principles and guidelines.
