| Abstract | Classically pain mechanisms are connected with the events in the nociceptive system. Recent recognition of activation and connection between immune and nociceptive system in acute and chronic pain enables better understanding of difficult pain situations and opens new possibilities for better pain treatment. Immune and nociceptive systems communicate through neuropeptides and cytokines. Inunune system plays the role in pain modulation, generation and maintenance. |
