Abstract     Among the finds of Pleistocene fauna in Slovenia are remains of felids quite rare. In the following paper six finds of Pleistocene felids are described. They have been determined to belong to the three different species from two genera. Some of the species were attested in particular locations for the first time. The finding of the wild cat from Črni Kal may be the oldest of this species found in Slovenia. The specimen from Potočka zijalka presents the find of the ice age leopard found in the highest location. The evolution and origin of the felid family are illustrated and the description of individual species and genera found in Slovenia is given. Regardning the paleolithic wall paintings and information about recent felids conclusions and assumptions about some characteristics of Pleistocene felids are made. The possibilities of finding species not yet found in Slovenia are also indicated: their geographic distribution taken into account they were probably present in this area. At the end a revision of all published and some unpublished finds of felids in Slovenia is presented.
