Abstract     With the study we evaluated the health educational effectiveness of VITA magazine concerning AIDS-related knowledge among blood donors. Among randomly selected blood donors we performed a pedagogic experiment. 107 blood donors from the city of Ljubljana and 65 student blood donors from the University of Ljubljana, completed a questionnaire of 26 test questions about various aspect of HIV infection and AIDS, before and after reading VITA. After reading the magazine AIDSrelated knowledge in both groups of blood donors significantly increased (average for 10%). There is significant correlation (p< 0,005) between the knowledge levels about HIV and levels of education. The issue of VITA magazine has achieved the desired effect. The evaluation of health education activities show their impact on knowledge and give directions for even better health education.
