Abstract     Complications of acute and chronic middle ear conditions manifest acutely and remains medical and surgical emergencies. The chart review study was conducted of a 109 otological urgent performed surgeries in our hospital for treating infective otological complications in the last 15 years. Chronic pathologic condition in the middle ear was found in 15 cases. Two, mastoidectomy were performed, in five cases combined with the subperiostal abscess drainage. In one patient isolated granulations on dura were removed, sigmoid sinus and the jugular vein was occluded due to the thrombosis. In two patients the extra dural abscesses were drained. Five cerebral abscesses developed due to the chronical otitis media. Even their incidence of these complications is relatively low, early and adequate surgical and antibiotic therapy is recommended.
