| Abstract | The article reviews higher nervous activity from a neurological standpoint. The historical background as well as modern concepts of brain - mental interaction are described along with functional cortical anatomy as well as hemisphere specialisation. The different types of aphasias, apraxias, agnosias and spatial disorders are explained. Disturbances of memory, intellect and personality are dealt with. Instructions for neurological examination of patients with higher nervous dysfunctions are provided. | |
