Abstract     In recent times the nuclear medicine computer systems are developed ncninly by tfce gnnncn cnncern 's producers. For resen less th. -ch nuclear medicine institutions the problem arises in scintigraphic data transfer between different medical centres in purpose to exchange patient investigations for quality assurance of ncclenr ncedicine softwnre. To overcome this problenc the European COST B2 project was started to standardize the form and structure of patient data files in communication between different laboratories. The IBM PC DOS format was chosen as a standard for these purposes. In our clinic we are developing our own IBM PC graphic station not only for the purpose o fcommunications but also for scintigraphic data acquisition, displaying and processing. An electronic board with control logic for acquisition of individual scintigrams was developed and already tested. Software for scintigraphic data acquisition, displaying, deleting studies, analysis (contrasting with lower and upper threshold interpolation, weighted smoothing isometric presentation, rotating the image, etc) was already developed. The graphic station could be used for other medical imaging techniques as well.
