Abstract     The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficasy of the endovascular treatment of patients with ruptured saccular aneurysms of arteries in the anterior cerebral circulation. We also evaluated the safety of the endovascular treatment and clinical outcome in patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage due to the ruptured aneurysm in the anterior circulation. The results of endovascular treatment were compared to the results of surgical treatment. Patients and methods: We treated 30 patients with a ruptured aneurysm of the arteries in the anterior cerebral circulation. Endovascular embolization was performed to obliterate aneurysms in the anterior circulation in 15 patients. Treatment was preformed with Seldinger method by punction of the femoral artery. Aneurysms were obliterated with electrolitically detachable platinum microcoils and electrothrombosis was induced within the aneurysmal sac. Angiographic outcome was defined in procents and descriptively using the 4-point Raymond scale. Also mathematical pecent of occlusion was obtained. Other 15 patients underwent microsurgical treatment with scull trepanation and clipping of the aneurysmal neck. (Abstract truncated at 2000 characters)
