Abstract		Heart transplantation is the treatment of choice for patients with advanced chronic heart failure. In Slovenia we performed 59 heart transplant procedures in the period from 1990 to 2007. The outcome of cardiac transplant recipients depends on adequate recipient selection, and meticolous therapeutic management in the early and late post-transplant periods.
Summary		Presaditev srca je izbirna metoda zdravljenja za bolnike z napredovalim srčnim popuščanjem. Od leta 1990 do 2007 je bilo v Sloveniji opravljenih 59 presaditev. Uspešno zdravljenje s presaditvijo srca temelji na pravilni izbiri prejemnika in na ustreznem zdravljenju v zgodnjem in poznem obdobju po presaditvi.
