Abstract     Vasopressin and its analogue, terlipressin, are potent vasopressors, that may be useful therapeutic agents in the treatment of cardiac arrest. In the recently published European Resuscitation Council CPR Guidelines there is a conservative recommendation about the use of vasopressors. In their opinion current evidence is insufficient to support the routine use of any particular drug or sequence of drugs other than injection of 1 mg epinephrine every 3 to 5 minutes. In contrast, the approach of the American Heart Association CPR Guidelines is more liberal, stating that „one dose of vasopressin may replace either the first or the second dose of epinephrine". In this reading we are presenting results of the two studies, which were conducted in PHU Maribor and published in Critical Care. The studies confirm, that combining vasopressin and epinephrine is more effective than using epineprine only in the treatment of cardiac arrest.
