Abstract		This article presents development and operating of helicopter emergency medical service (HEMS) in Slovenia from beginning of pilot project of HEMS, which was started in July 2003 until present days. first part of article covers the main characteristics of project and short review of 540 interventions done by HEMS in past four years. Second part of it presents transition of project to regular HEMS service, present work of HEMS and discusses some differences between both periods of HEMS. At the and we talk about obstacles we meet in our service and future perspectives and plans about HEMS in Slovenia.
