Abstract     The article describes the main achievements and components of rehabilitation robotics in an intelligible, non-technical manner. The introduction discusses the development of robotic approaches in rehabilitation of neurological patients and the operation of robotic devices in view of their influence on human beings. Further the article presents the area of virtual reality in rehabilitation. Haptics and the touch of a robot interface with a human being are discussed to demonstrate the meaning and the added value of the robotic approaches which have not been used in other devices. The article then goes onto describe the meaning of passive exercising and active tasks; the discussion is based on the results of various clinical studies. The conclusion emphasizes the value of quantitative measuring as one of the superb qualities of robotic devices.
Summary     Prispevek prikazuje glavne dosežke in komponente rehabilitacijske robotike na poljuden, netehničen način. Uvodni del razgrne razvoj robotskih pristopov v rehabilitaciji nevroloških pacientov in nasploh načinov delovanja robotskih naprav glede na njihov vpliv na človeka. V nadaljevanju je predstavljeno področje navidezne resničnosti v rehabilitaciji. Haptičnost ter dotik robotskega vmesnika s človekom so prikazani, zato da bi razumeli pomen in dodano vrednost robotskih pristopov, ki pri drugih napravah niso bili izkoriščeni. Sledi prikaz pomena pasivnega razgibavanja in aktivnih nalog, diskusija se opira na rezultate raznih kliničnih študij. V zaključnem delu je preko splošnega pomena merjenj poudarjen pomen kvantitativnih merjenj kot ene od odličnih lastnosti robotskih naprav.
