Abstract		The pathology of the anorectal region is rich. Many pathologic changes are caused by microorganisms. Viral and parasitic diseases of the perianal region are partially connected with sexual behavior of the patients and they are of special epidemiological importance. Bacterial and fungal infections are among most important causes. Most common surgically treated, infections in this region are: abscesses, fistulas and pilonidal cyst.
Summary		V anorektalnem področju lahko najdemo številne bolezenske spremembe. Mnoge med njimi so povzročene z mikroorganizmi. Virusne in parazitne bolezni so vsaj deloma povezane s spolnimi navadami in so zato velikega epidemiološkega pomena. Bakterijske in glivične okužbe prav tako niso redke. Najpogostejše okužbe v perianalnem področju, ki jih zdravimo kirurško, so: perianalni kondilomi, perianalni abscesi, perianalne fistule in pilonidalni sinus.
