Abstract		Patients with depression do not always seek professional help despite the high prevalence of the disorder and the fact that it is curable. Even when they do, depression is not always recognised and properly treated. The article describes some reasons that cause the above problem.
Summary		Bolniki z depresijo kljub njeni pogostnosti in dejstvu, da jo je mogoče dobro zdraviti, velikokrat ne poiščejo strokovne pomoči. Če jo, se pogosto zgodi, da bolezen ni vedno prepoznana in ustrezno zdravljena. V prispevku je opisanih nekaj razlogov, zaradi katerih prihaja do navedenega.
